Alarm Frustration

Finally got around to whipping the door card off to see what's up with the alarm activation. All seems fine (microswitches work when you press them) but no contact being made between the lock cylinder and the switches. Then I find this (see pics)

I can only assume that this is what is supposed to activate the switches. but how do I get it back on ???? there is a little grey patch on the inside where it looks like it may of detached but HTF am I supposed to re-attach it.

Will I have to get another part.

yes you will that should be a complete circle shape goes on the back of the barrel

like wilza said, i just changed a corsas lock set, i found that bit missing turned out to be at the bottom of the door, it snapped and there was no way of fixing it.
