help, heating stopped working properly

Im the proud owner of a calibiz, red 16v, red top, lowered, 17s it is a k reg c20 xe, de cat (sh*t job) 120k, n black leather,it is wicked 4 my 2nd car! I had a ax gt b 4, beats da sh*t out of it!

b honest dont know much bout the car, had 2 clean it up quiet a bit, needs sum arch work done as well! i had 2 buff up the paint work enuff times, stil fades!

n e ways i also got a few problems with my calibz at the moment , i was wonderin wether n e one cud help me out?

My heatings f*cked just out of the blue! b 4 it happened, when i turned the fan on it sounded like leaves were flowwing round the sysytem! i have got alot of trees bout u c.

n e way, i havnt got it checked yet, basically u cant hear heatin fan go on when u switch the fan on.<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--><!--fontc--></span><!--/fontc-->

<!--fonto:Tahoma--><span style="font-family:Tahoma"><!--/fonto--><!--coloro:#191970--><span style="color:#191970"><!--/coloro-->the thing is it is working well slow, u can jus bout notice it! some people said i need a new fan, like i said u feel air cumin threw and i dont know if its wind or the fans jus stuck. sum say it might be the fan switch witch is nackered which i hope, because as far as i know ive checkied all the fuses! got enuff wrong wid the car as it is!

any way any one have ideas? from past experiences would be a lot of help, thanx

right i will help because i had similar problems



get to the fan -
you will need 13mm socket and phillips screwdrivers

open bonnet and remove wiper arms using masking tape to mark the position on the windscreen.
remove long rubber strip at rear of engine bay and remove the plastic scuttle panel.
if there is a filter remove it and the fan should be right in the middle.
remove the wiring plug and remove the screw next to the plug and remove the plug it should be a big resistor pack this is the fan speed controller costs about 50 quid from vaux

this took me about 2 weeks to sort out in my spare time

nice one 4 replying smurf & taking the time 2 direct me as well.

That sounds a whole lot better than the 150 quid that the new fan motor costs.

Just one thing, i havnt checked the actual switch in the dash, and some mechanics say i need a new motor 4 the fan, thats without a look. But like i said some air does come threw, if u deffinately sure, i will start on it soon as i can.

try replacing the pollen filter, that can restrict the air flow into the cabin if you do a search on here for pollen filter there are a few posts on it

heres one, i had weak blowers and when i removed the pollen filter it was black with crap and bugs etc, get a new one from motorfactors or halfords etc think it was only £6 and it improved mine to say the least
