reset ABS light.. just battery?

by Stupink » Thu Mar 23, 2006 4:01 pm

can anyone confirm to reset the ABS light on my K reg turbo all i have to do is disconnect battery for a while, there after all codes are fresh?

I had a couple of sensor faults, new sensors havnt cleared the fault, i think its the main shielded cable running down the sill, but need to make sure.
The fault codes are reading the same as before dispite having had the battery off for a good couple of hours, but I get the feeling that they are simply not clearing. I need to be certain really as one of them is the brakelight pedel switch.. however thats been replaced with a known good one too. so maybe the wiring to that is suspect as well, possilbly to do with my stupid lexarse lights. so i need to know if the codes are old or fresh.

good god i can babble..

cool cheers.
I am thinking I will replace the lexarse lights with the std, clear the codes again and retest it. they bring the broken sidelight bulb warning light on at night anyway which is annoying.. I think this will cure the brakeswitch fault, maybe the other fault will dissapear then like magic

cool cheers Bri i'll try that, I guess its the extra load from the bulbs or something.
It was a bit of a crazy night when i picked the car up, plymouth to central london after work, lol got there about 9:30/10:00 i think, have a vauge memory returning to me now the guy said the abs only came on after he installed the lexarse lights.. so here's hoping.. although he could have been talking about the headlight bulb warning, there was quite litterally almost every bulb on the dash illuminated at the time i bought it lol. so confusion wouldnt have been hard.

Sadly not
As soon as the sun starts to shine I will be attacking that one again now, I have a spare engine to install in it while I save up to finish building the main one. this is my second one i'm using as a runabout that i bought back in nov. MOT was due this month so got a few things to sort, failed on this abs and rear disks, not bad!! was expecting a few hidden supprises.
