Help with Horn blowing fuse
Anyone got any ideas why this might start happening all of a sudden? Car has been fine, was sat in works car park all morning then I got a phone call from our security saying my alarm was going off, when I got to the car it had stopped, but horn was dead with a blown fuse. I thought maybe my steering lock ad
When I replace the fuse for the horn (Fuse 20 - Yellow 20A), as soon as I try the horn it blows (can actually hear it click/pop).
Any way I can test the horn seperately to the car? Would putting 12V across it be enough to see?
Can do much now as I'm going on hols tommorow, but would appreciate any advice (especially if people have had this happen) for when I return and start to fault find.
thanks!

Are they different layouts on different models/years Robbie?
I just went to double check, and on mine, 6 is as you say, but only has the wipers logo (front & rear I'd guess from the symbols), but 20 definately has the horn/trumpet symbol and is a yellow 20A. What I didn't spot earlier (god knows how since it's right next to it!) is that the lower small black relay next to the fuse 20 is also labelled with the horn/trumpet symbol. I wonder if it's gone faulty somehow and maybe that's why the fuse blows straight away. Have to get hold of a replacement on my return (it's only a small lucas parts item ).
If I get time after packing I'll get my owners manual out and see what it has listed for them as well.

Got around to looking at the horns tonight, more than enough space with the car up on the ramps to reach the horns without removing the bumper first.
Took them off and put a new fuse in, tried the horn and it didn't blow, and could hear the relay clicking - that made me feel a bit better as I'd rather replace a horn than have to start tracing wiring faults!
Stuck a voltmeter/resistance meter across the terminals on each horn, one was reading 1(infinite) , the other a more normal. Plugged the 'normal' one back in and tried it and it works OK, so for now I've got 1 horn working instead of 2, but at least it's got a horn again, MOT next week (it will fail on lots more I'm sure)..
