Battery warning light - Calibra Turbo

by mafia69 » Wed Jul 19, 2006 5:36 pm

I have a very wierd problem with my car. If i turn off my car, the battery warning light stays on and the fuel computer stays on too. Nothing else. I can even change the option i would like to see in the fuel computer.

But when i start my car and drive with it, nothings wrong. Only when ignition is off.

I'm asking for help, i need my car so i would like to know is my battery empty soon and what should i do?

Thanks in advance for any help. :sob:

Could something as simple as the voltage regulator on the altrenator. Is the battery going flat, you can check to see if it is the alternator by disconnecting it and see if you've still got the same fault, have you got any current drain ( to test this disconnect one of the battery terminals and with a voltmeter set to read current put one probe on the battery terminal and the other one on the lead you disconnected) you should get next to nothing on the meter

Everything is ok now. I changed a new alternator and it cured the problem.
There was something wrong with those diodes. Hope you understand what i mean.

btw. the car died completely before i changed the alternator. It lost all power from battery.

Nice to hear you got it sorted.:nana: :nana:
I know what you mean there the voltage regulators which helps to ensure you get a nice smooth charging voltage.
