V6 conversion question

I have put a calibra v6 from a 97 car into my 95 ecotec cally and so far so good appart from the thing wont start!....the only wiring loom i changed was the loom on the engine that goes straight to the ecu...however i have noticed that the round plug on the engine by the battery has different coloured wires in it to the cars loom and also the pin patterns are different. Any body here got any idea if these wires can be changed about to save changine the dash loom or do i need to gut it all out and start again.
If anyone has any V6 wiring diagrams please mail them to me as im stuck big time at the moment! Likewise anyone breaking a V6 who can sell me this loom i will pay handomely for the parts!
