Trip computer set-up

Hi all!

Just came back to UK after my summer holidays, only that this time i brought my cally back! so this year won't be that boring!

One of my friends here also has a P reg calibra (it seems calibra is quite popular to greeks too!) and he has just upgrade the digi clock to a trip computer. He has connected the yellow plug behind the stereo and installed the button next to the handbrake as well. It seems that it works fine, apart from the consumption feature. When he revs between 1000-3000 it indicates zero and after 3000 it start to sho something, but then it goes to 999.99
We have tried the trip computer to my calibra which already has one and it seems fine. Do you know what may be the problem?
Also my computer it seems to change byitself the display from miles/galon to galon/hour. Is there any way to adjust it myself?
