battery life?

hey pps i was wondering if anyone new how long a vauxhall car battery should last, as mines has the red/white grifin sticker on it, the cars a 96, it has neva given me any bother (touch wood!) but should they last 10 yrs?? it looks old tho! its still green in the display bit. also me gauge display a good 12.5 volts when not running, just a query really fanx

chances are its not original, just use it till it stops workin i say lol

just out of interest, autovaux are doing vx GO batterys from 23 quid atm. saw a sign when i called in today for a cam sensor.
