engine management test

just been doing the paper clip test on my calibra turbo c20let hasn't been started for 5 years due to head trouble that last owner couldn't be bothered to do. the test came up with code 12 and code 57. no 12 says in the book that it always comes up with that code not to worry about it. code 57 is idle air control-voltage high , can anyone help solve this?

not sure what you are aware and arnt. so under the inlet manifold is a coke can sized bosh device, controls the idle on the car, on the top of the inlet where the big pipe from the intercooler goes theres a smaller one nearer the bulkhead, that pipe goes down to the valve..

voltage high means there is a break in the wiring or the valve is unplugged. obviously it could also be a faulty valve, but if work has been done more likely it was left unplugged by accident. or isnt even there.
