can any one tell me an easy way to get out the ecu in drivers footwell?

yeah don't think you'll be asking your bro in law to borrow/look at his haynes manual looser :axed:

there is no easy, or hard way.
just remove the kick panel trim, undo the 4 (or less) 8mm nuts, unclip the wiring loom, remove the vacuum/boost hose and perform magic and weave the ecu out through any wires and the bonnet release arm thingy.

ok stu ive got the bottom 8mm ones undone just cant find room to do the top 2.

I usually use a deep reach 8mm socket to get the top ones, a small extension between socket and ratchet should suffice.
