I've got starting problems

by ross85 » Sun Jan 13, 2008 5:19 pm

Went to go into town this afternoon and the car wouldn't start. Initially I thought it may be damp - I did a round trip of around 360 miles on Friday to Gloucester and was stuck in snow on the way back for about 3 hours. When I got near home the EML came on and there was a funny smell like something had burnt. I've just WD40'd the leads and plugs and after a while it started & and I've got two fault codes:
19 - Incorrect RPM (Crankshaft sensor)
92 - Camshaft sensor (Incorrect signal)
I replaced the camshaft sensor at the start of December, just checked it and it hasn't come loose so is it a dodgy crankshaft sensor which triggered the camshaft fault? And where do I find the crankshaft sensor?!
Cheers

Regarding the EML. I get the same thing with my EML in damp conditions. I was already aware of the problem because the person who previously owned the car took it to a vauxhall dealership to have it sorted. They confirmed management system was ok so they took out the sensor and replaced it, but it carried on doing it in damp conditions.

Is this a common occurence with Calibras.
