GM Battery

by RobbieV » Thu Jan 17, 2008 2:48 am

Got one of those Vauxhall GM go batteries and it went flat on me so gave it a charge overnight now for the problem.

Battery charger says battery fully charge but the indicator on the battery is still black (Flat) instead of Green (full) ?

Is my battery knackered and time for a new one ?

If I remember right, they dont charge very well after the black dot has come up and thats telling you it's time to change it.

Most good motor shops should have a good line in Batteries. It's the time of year for them to fail.

They are so called "dry" batteries and they are not rechargeable - it think its even dangerous to recharge (might explode or something like that) - once its flat that is it you need a new one...

Not sure about dry, but they are sealed, and i also when i charged i switched the charger to 'sealed type', they dont seem to hold a charge like and old fashion 'open' one.
