Drivers side electric window programming

hi,

Ages ago I had to replace the drivers side electric window motor. It all works, accept the window now goes up and down in stages i.e. if I press the button for the window to slide down, it goes down about 5 inches, stops for a few seconds, then goes down another 5 inches, and so on, until its fully wound down (i have to keep the button held down).

I followed the reprogramming instructions in the haynes manual, but it made no difference. Passenger window goes up and down fine.

Any ideas?

All i know is the way to reset them after removing the battery which is to hold the button in for a few seconds when at the top. Is it sticking at all in the runners? try spraying some wd40 down them.

try pressing the button and keep it held till the window is fully down then again until the window is fully up, completing one complete cycle like this with the button held down normally sorts it out
