Fuel pump relay

Has anyone else had trouble with there fuel pump relays? also, i seem to have 2, drivers side kick panel, purple ones?

Replaced one, but still have trouble starting sometimes, i think it must be the relay as i've left the panel off and can hear them click when it finally starts or is there something else that does the initial 'prime' to start the car?

Just wondered before i go buy another one!

there will be only one, but there are several relays that do different things.
the tell tale for the fuel pump relay causing starting issues is that the ECU check control light won't come on as normal before starting. tap the relay untill the light comes on, and then the car will start.

Strange, i bought a fuel pump relay from vaux, when i went to change it i was faced with 2 identical relays, wires going to both, and whilst the car was running when unpluged (either or) the engine would stop, which is why i assumed they are both for the fuel pump?

if you look in my post about fitting footwell lights on the second page you will see that i have the drivers footwell kickpanel off, and you will see the fuel pump relay behind the central locking control box,the one you need is the smaller one at the back nearer the pedals

Yep that looks different to mine!
The relay i was sold and the two in the car that cut the engine when unpluged are smaller square and purple!

Right i'll take some pics tonight, my cars a '97 SE8 if that makes a difference?

Thanks for the help.
