My uncles cav was brought to me for a service, the ignition barrel nuked itself internally AGAIN. First time it happened I replaced the entire unit with a second hand one.
Its gone again! It means you cannot turn the key - it refused to turn. This means you cannot get the ignition into position 1 to slide the barrel out.
Power drill is your friend. I made him spend £60 and buy a brand new unit this time.
The immobiliser is a flat black ring thats hooked on the end of the ignition barrel casing. The ring has a box attached to the bottom of it.
If you have this you need to swop the chips over.
