bit of alarm help please!!

ive wired up a after market alarm to me cally and want to wire up the alarm so the fob locks the doors aswel, anyway cut a long story short i got the two wires of the alarm that are supposed to go to the drivers solenoid and put a tester to them expecting a surge of voltage or something when i blip the fob but nothing,any help on this or even better an alarm fitter if there is one on here, thanks

what alarm have you got and are the wires for the locking system supposed to be for the locking?

The alarm locking pulse is an earth, so you wont get any voltage reading (unless your using a meter for testing or a smart tester))..and you should run wires form the alarm to the central locking relay ....not the solenoid

most alarms have either a positive or earth pulse option ...if you have used a positive to the solenoid you may have damaged it now

also now moved to the correct forum :)


ps if your not sure about car eletcirc.s...best leave them alone, could cause more problems :!:
