Battery Warning Light
Hi
Calibra 8V 1993 vintage fitted with 120amp alternator.
The battery light flickers at low revs and gets brighter as the revs increase. I have checked the battery voltage and even at low rervs it measures 15v, I assume this means the battery is being charged. But not sure why the warning light comes on? Would it be the regulator that has failed?
It is a very busy time for me at the moment, would I do any damage if I drive it for a few days - I try and keep the revs as low so as not to cause the warning light to come on fully.
Regards

Re: Battery Warning Light
I think that's what happens when the diode pack in the alternator packs up,
not sure what the effects of driving it like that would be, I'm sure one of the more electrically experienced guys can shed some more light on it, as I'm not that hot on it.

I would check the alternator, battery will hold charge but drain in a few days as alternator probably wont be charging it. Or so i've found on mine at times

Nothing succeeds like a budgie with nae teeth
