Limp Mode caused By Interior Light Bulb
I was changing the Map Light Bulbs, when it seemed like a blew a fuse...
So I did the obvious, and checked all Fuses in both locations, but none of them had blown...
Anyway, the car has now gone into 'Limp Mode'
The Trip Computer Functions are no longer displayed, the Sporty Light on the dash keeps Flashing,
and the Buzzer Relay for when you leave the lights on, keeps Buzzing!!! Weird...
Any thoughts on the possible Solution???

Re: Limp Mode caused By Interior Light Bulb
This is how it happened...
I removed my 'Bug Eyes' Interior light, to test out a Tinted Unit from a Vectra...
It looks exactly like the Standard Calibra Light, just that this one is a darker tint...
I was fitting LED's at the time so I had the Ingition Lights on, in order to fit the bulbs correctly...
The Centre Light went in fine and lit up, but the problem started when I went to fit a side bulb...
I could then smell that distinct smell, when something electrical has short circuited...
Action Taken so far:
I've checked all Fuses beneath the steering wheel...
I've checked all Fuses and Relays under the bonnet...
I've disconnected the Battery for 45 mins and tried again...
I've disconnected the Battery, and will try again tomorrow...

Re: Limp Mode caused By Interior Light Bulb
it should be fues 8. 15A - Courtesy lamp, Luggage compartment lamp, Hazard warning flasher, Dual info display, Radio, Trip computer
I would be replacing the fuse

Re: Limp Mode caused By Interior Light Bulb
It sounds random though, i wonder if its complete coincidence that it went, because you had the ignition on... But hey, my transfer box blew while i was sat still!! haha
Re: Limp Mode caused By Interior Light Bulb
just checked mine and the fuse that takes the bug eyes out is fuse No22
22. 10A - Reverse lamps, Dual info display, Trip computer, headlamp warning device

It's weird alright...
The Courtesy Lamp, Boot Lamp, Hazard Lights, Clock and Stereo are all still working...
Fuse No. 8 is fine too...
The Car moves with Power in Reverse, but weak in Drive...
Is there info on a flashing 'S' Light on the dash???

Re: Limp Mode caused By Interior Light Bulb
just found this... maybe of some help...
"know this sounds stupid... but its true check to see if your cig lighter works .. if not check the fuse there are 2 if blown replace.. if not clean and replace ..they are somehow linked to the gearbox and cause the gearbox to start in third in d..aswell as the sports mode warning light flashing on and off.
have tryed it and it works."
thats from a vectra site.... it seems to be called the flashing S of death.. but thats all ive found so far

I knew I should have pulled all of the Fuses out, and inspected them with a Micro Scope...
Thanks to all those who contributed...
Much Appeciated
