Put a new head unit in car and is it normal it will only work when the ignition is on?
Also when the cars running and your playin' tunes, When you switch off the car the sterio goes off as well, Then if you restart the car the sterio starts up again from where it left off.
Never been able to do this with all my other Vauxhalls, So I am curious what I've done different this time?

RE: Fitted new head unit
Everything seems fine. My CD player does exactly the same thing.

mate there are 2 wires
red is ignition only
Yellow is CONSTANT live, you will need to feed the Yello wire to the live wire on your stereo mate

RE: ABS Light
I deliberately re-wire every stereo/plug I get so both stereo feeds are fed from the perm live so I can have the stereo on without keys in the ignition. Something you might wanna consider while you're in there re-wiring it....
Though you do have to remember to turn it off when you get out, otherwise it'll kill your battery
