Ok, so everything is working except the vx alarm, ive got a code 12 flashing all the time with no codes stored and the battery keeps going flat when the alternator and battery are fine and they cant find any excess drain, so its an intermittent fault,
the car was broken into again about a month or so ago and since then the vx alarm hasnt worked.
I noticed this morning that the side sill cover on the passenger side is now cracked so ive taken it off and theres a few disconnected and cut wires here and there, problem is i cant find were they go!
1/ going to the door switch inside the wing there is a twin pair of wires, one of which goes to the door switch thhat has one contact, the other wire with a spade connecter has nowhere to go and is just there in mid air
2/ there is a grey and orange wire going from front to back of the car, cut in the center , i have the rear half but i cant see the other half,
3/ i have a bunch of very shiny black wires earthd to a point about halfway from the seat to the front of the car under the cover, attached by a screw but there are 3 others all black in the same bunch not connected to anything
4/ i also have a bunch of relays with an extra black multipin connector that has no relay on it and has a bright red and grey cable attatched to the corner of it,
Does anyone know where any of these wires goto, do they go anywhere.....
HELP!

might be wrong, but sounds like there has been an aftermarket alarm in there at some point? previous owner maybe?
under the side seal that you've taken off is where they would run.
so before the break in the standard alarm was working fine and you didnt have these problems?

Yes ,std alarm working ok before they broke in, but it only just occasionaly flashed the indicators when arming or going off,
the only other thing that happened when they broke in was there was a 8" pc of wire with twisted ends under the steering wheel and the immobiliser wouldnt turn on, so i checked the fuses and a fuse in the center of the top row had blown?, replaced it and it stated but has been flashing 12 ever since.
There was an alarm fitted to it before i got it but they took it out to sell the car., ive got other alarms but there not wired in there, there all under the bonnet and in the boot.

You mean the ECU light is flashing up the codes on its own all the time??
sorry, only just twigged you meant that, they've obviously faffed around and sorted something out somewhere then, its only supposed to do that with the A-B terminals shorted even if you have a fault.. have they disrupted anything in the engine bay?
If im not mistaken, the alarm flashes its codes on the LED by the sonic sensor, so it shouldnt be a problem with the alarm wiring causing it.. check your diagnostic plug and all wirinng around that to make sure its not been fiddled with at all..
In my experience with cars "intermitant" electrical problems dont really exist.. more often or not its interemitant capability in the garages.. lol.. every problem i've ever had that i thought to be some intermitant problem of some form turned out to be something constant just that the garages couldnt find.. I had mine tested a few times for "drain" etc.. nothing found out the ordinary sir.. so new alternator, then new battery later.. yeh rite... turned out my stereo was drawing power all the time and flattening the battery. very frustrating.. at least none of them had the cheek to charge for testing it all out lol..
If you have a door switch disconnected as it sounds like you might then surely the alarm will not activate as it thinks you have the doors open? I've never looked at the doors to see how they're switched, are you sure the otehr tab hasnt shered off or something? to get a reliable earth thru the door hinges or the tie strap would be a bit optimistic for security related gear, i woudl have thought it supplied a seperate earth
