steering rack

Ive got a lot of play with my steering and looking at everything i have found that my steering rack moves up and down about 5 mil , is this normal , I've tryed doing up the 2 bolts in the centre but there really tight,
any ideas

pull back the foam around the rack mounts and check they're not cracked on the bulkhead, a fairly common problem.. I assume you mean the whole rack not just the track rods.

Racks tend to last well over ten years or 100,000. Trackrods last around 30,000 so worth checking them first.

i ment the track rods,the 2 bolts middle bolts,no cracks on bulk head,
