car parts direct do a little kit that will put a new boot on in a few minutes, u only need to jack up the car remove the old one. wipe the old grease off with a clean lint free rag. place the new boot over the shaft and glue with superglue. pack with grease and then tie wrap into place, its a ten minute job and all the instructions come the kit.

job done and easier than having the split the bottom arm apart and wrestle with the suspension.

IMO those glue together thingy cv book kits are rubbish, tried twice last year using those kits and each time they came off

In the end went to the garage for a proper job done

well i think if you dont know what your doing (like me) then a garage would be the best bet.I always used to use my other halfs dad help but he doesnt touch cars no more...:frown:

even robbiev said yesterday he has never done one of these as i asked for his help as i thought he would know (not that hes a know it all lol but hes done well so far helping me (especially before i did my cold air feed top bloke :icon_nod: )

i think if i attempted this i would either worry incase ive done it wrong or something dangerous and it would worry me more if my other half was in the car and i did something wrong so even if it costs more its safety at the end of the day and im not great as a mechanic...

glueing the gaiter together wasn't the problem, it was keeping the gaiter to stay on the hub.
