Wheel rubbing

Amateur question but......


and please excuse my ignorance..... i'm learning slowly.....

my wheel is making a rubbing noise as it goes round. Its the caliper part rubbing on the disc......

what can I do?

Change you brake pads by the sound of it!

Could be the pads. Depends on the noise....it could be the shield catching the disc. Like i said, it depends on the noise. Difficult to say without hearing it.

could be the shield,as i had that prob after i changed discs.
what type of noise is it,rubbing as in metallic,whirling noise etc?

check the shield first as its the quickest thing to check. then check youy pads.
metallic whirring sounds like your shield though. it would be kind of a high pitch whirr.
completely worn pads would be a grinding dull kind of noise. new pads and ones which are just coming to the end of the life (ie informing you its nearly time to change them) can make a high pitched squeel.
also is it back or front?
