For Those With Non Standard Alloys

I'm hoping this is perfectly normal and it's just that I'm not used to it, but since having 17's on my V6 with 215/40/17 tyres I find that the car is constantly following the ruts in the road and it can pull the car around a bit. I've also noticed on the motorway in lane 3 the car will follow the contour of the road and pull to the right a bit.
I've had the tracking checked twice (both times it was out and was adjusted). If I find a straight piece of road and position the wheel centrally, it'll go in a straight line, but seems to get pulled off by the slightest change on the road.
Do all of you guys with non-standard alloys find the same thing? I'm presuming it must be the lack of tyre compared to my old 15's with 205/55 tyres.
Thanks

Neil, It's call tramlining. Basically it's not a trait due to the size of the wheel but the width. It would have been noticeable on 205 section tyres and then the wider the section the more the car tends to follow the grooves in the road. When you up size the wheel there is less bounce in the sidewall aswell so low profiled wiode tyres are more susceptible.

I've got the same and as Jay said it's just the width.

Hi Guys,
Interest that this topic has been brought up. Because I have found the same with my tyre wheel combination. And i was worried it may have something to do with the alignment.
I bought a second hand set of 16 x 6 calli turbo rims, and fitted them with Goodyear F1 205/16/50's.
The tyre guy said something about the tyres being directional, (in one ear and out the other), and I have noticed that the call tends to won't to follow the curvature of the road.
Thanks guys for the reassurance that this is normal, I've saved myself $60.00.
