Help!! Ball joint issues!
Hi folks. Just in the middle of lowering the cally, only, we've hit a brick wall! How on earth do u get the ball joints apart without mullering them??? Have ball joint splitters, but there just not budging! Even when their apart, the bottom ball joints, can't get the splitter on them! HELP!! Any hints/tips people???
Cheers....

Re: Help!! Ball joint issues!
I assume you have taken the nut off the bottom. Certain ball joint splitters can damage them but it sounds like a case of giving them a good clout, they will come eventually
More power than God
Re: Help!! Ball joint issues!
Yeah, bottom nut is off....been clouting it like mad, and still it won't shift!
How do u get the bottom ball joint off then?? Cant get the splitter on it..

Re: Help!! Ball joint issues!
much the same mate at the top of the cartridge there is a round cover nut type thing, both of mine were stuck solid,so you get your hammer and chisel and try and knock it left
(lefyt loosie rightie tighty) it helps if you have some new cover nuts as the old ones are gonna get fecked.any more questions?

Re: Help!! Ball joint issues!
I would never leaver off the drive shaft ...thats asking for trouble
the top nut will come of the strut if you have a vice or a workmate and a very large pair of stilsons (or a spanner) thats once you have stripped the strut of the springs of course
