How crucial is the...
...compression of the front ARB link bushes??
Just fitted a new pair and it says in the Haynes to have them tightened so the bushes compress to 38.0 - 39.0 mm....is this a crucial measurement, does it affect anything?
I fitted a pair a while ago and borrowed a micrometer, and it was a PITA to use as it kept slipping etc....so i just tightened these up till they fealt sort of tight and the bushes had some decent compression.

I think you've answered your own question, I always tighten them till they look about right, just try to make sure both sides are the same

Cheers Phantom....i thought that might be the case, but ive never been sure if they affected anything geometry wise, especially when it gives an exact measurement in the Haynes.

I do mine so theres about 2cm of thread showing, and by sight this looks ok on the bushes as well
