cv joint

just had a new cv joint fitted and the garage say its not the right one i got it from part co the one that is ment to be on there is one with a split pin and the one i have got has just a nut any one got anything to say on this matter ????????

you go from the number of teeth it has
think its 24 or 42 it can only be one or the other u need to count
