Noisy power steering

Power steering is noisy when moving steering wheel while car is not moving, i am not losing any fluid but i think its the pump can i take it off and do anything to it to fix it? (trusty wd40?lol)

What kind of noise are we talking about?

I had a high-pitched screech, replacing the power steering belt coming from the engine helped with that.

mine does the same , but it was becuase i had an oil leak on one of the pipes and didnt get it sorted for ages ( £95 bloody pipe i might add) i have just bought another power steering pump off ebay for £20 heh , no idea how much they are new but im guessing it cant be any worse than the one i have on it now [img]/smile.gif[/img]

i had the same problem but it happend to be one of the pipes was slightly kinked try turning the engine on which in turn starts the pump off then try squeezing the rubber pipes to see if that makes any diff

you sould be able to get a second hand pump from a scrappy if it happens to be the pump cavs have the same ones but make sure you get the one with the right belt cost you about £5-£10 if you know what belt it is let me know and i will pop down at the weekend and get you one from my scrappy
