Wheel Wobble...

by bagaz » Wed Mar 29, 2006 7:53 pm

Hi all. I got a friend with a '97' V6 cally auto. He gets a wheel wobble btween 50 and 75 mph. Was wondering if anyone could shed any light on the subject? It's been in the garage for weeks now and the dirve shafts, discs and pads have been replaced. He's running brand new (from vauxhall) Astra H alloys with 205/50 tyres (also new). The wheels have been balanced both on and off the car. He's also noticed that the wobble get slightly worse after the car warms up. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Possibly gear box? Thanks sooooo uch for any advice at all. Cheers

He's pretty sure that the brakes are sweet as they are brand new discs and pads. He hasn''t given them any stick since they've been on so i don't think they could be warped. Unless anyone's had dodgy new ones before.

I presume as they arre vauxhall wheels they wont require the spigot rings that you need with some wheels if the center hole is slightly larger.

He's had it HPI checked so he's pretty sure it's not been involved in an accident. Mentioned about the crap on the hub and he's gonna have a go at cleaning it up. Will post when he's done that and let ya know how it goes. Thanks for all the suggestions so far!!
