Vibrating Brake peddal!!

For the last few days when I apply my brakes sometimes the pedel vibrates, almost like the ABS is cutting in but it is very faint, and I am not braking hard, it feels almost grindey. It doesnt happen all the time, only now and again, but it is worrying. How else can I describe it:

grinding
pulsing
makes a grating noise.

Any ideas from anyone!? :banana:

Rear discs + pads are about 8 months old, Front disc + pads around 3 months old!

would this be the case if if only happened every so often?

sometimes the ABS ring can lose a tooth and so fools the ABS into cutting in, clean the teeth and the sensor point with a wire brush if they look ok, I have also known a stone stuck between the pad and the disk to cause this sensation
