is all power steering fluis the same of is there a brand thats reccomended, would it be worth draining and replacing the fluid on a 4x4 rater than topping it up if unsure how long the fluid has been in there.

There's manual or automatic, it all has to conform to quality guidelines.

Drain the fluid if it's all black and crappy.

yeah i agree. should be clear and red. if it is just top up with dex2
tbh though vaux isnt exactly expensive for the stuff.. though that may be on tradeclub... not sure what retail is.
