Traction Control inactive?
The traction control button in my 1997 V6 Calibra, stays lit all the time when the side or head lights are on. It makes no difference if I press the button - it just stays lit.
However, during daylight hours when the side or head lights are not on, the traction control light is not illuminated. You guessed it, the button light just stays 'off' all the time - no matter how many times I press the TC button.
This observation conflicts with advice given in the handbook, which suggests that the traction control is working OK if the TC button is NOT lit, but has a fault somewhere, resulting in the traction control not working, if the TC button IS lit (or you have opted to switch off the traction control).
So, with a TC button that is persistently lit when the car's lights are on, or persistently not lit when the car's lights are off, I am confused.
Can anyone clue me up as to what is going on here?

Here's some info on TC to see if that helps first -
