Handbrake problem?

Ok guys, had the car in the other month for my rear wheel bearing replacment. Been away at work so not driven the car as much. Ever since the bearing replacement I've had a dodgy handbrake. It only takes a few clicks and it's fully on. That's quite a bit less clicks than previously but believe that's down to the re adjustment of the brake after bearing replacement. My main problem is that I've noticed that the handbrake lever doesn't fully return to it's original position when taken off. The lever used to have some sort of return force when taking off the handbrake. Now I have to physically push the lever down to reach it's original sitting position and to ensure the brake light on the dash goes out. Is there a spring or something somewhere which controls the return of the lever to it's original position?

i never got round to fixing that on me old se8 but it was the return spring snapped

Sounds like you need to get the drum off and check the springs and shoes are reseated correctly and as Vinny says there is a return spring on the in side rear of hub that attaches to the cable, they may not have replaced it correctly or even lost it.

cheers for that, will get it checked out as soon as. If for any reason the spring has snapped or is in fact missing, can they be obtained easily?

Yes, in fact i linked 2 smaller springs together and did it that way
