Steering rack

Is it possible to get to the drivers side mounting bolts by just taking off the wheel. I want to see if the bolts are loose or the rack is knacked before actually taking the servo and header tank and other bits off unnecessarily

i suspect the rack is loose in some way as i can grab hold of the tie rods where they meet in the middle of the rack and waggle it up and down where as on the old astra i had you couldnt move it at all like that. I'm hoping the rack has failed or come loose and not rusted away from the bulk head

is the lock tab still on the bolts ?? if not they may well have worked lose ...15mm

yep that's still there, when giving the tie rods a waggle its the whole rack that moves

Passenger side is solid so need to check drivers side and hopefully its not the mount on the bulk head rusted away
