Strut bushes

Hello, I am looking to replace the top bushes and bearings on my front struts,
Do you'z think I can do it by just jacking up the front, undoing the top nut, pulling down the rod and monuvering the old stuff out ,then stick the new stuff on or am I gonna have to completely remove the struts?
A good few hours difference in working time.
