brake pad sensor

does anyone know if there should be a sensor on each side? i had my right wheel off today and there was no sensor wire but i've got a old recipt for a l/h sensor, so i assume theres one there.

Both of my callys have had them both sides, I know because I replaced them on both cars!!
The first was a '92 16v and now is a '95 turbo.

my mates dad has a 2002 vectra and omly has a brake sensor on one side so it is poss. that you only have one but unless you have had the car from new you may not know if one has been removed after being damaged and not replaced
