Re: Carbon fibre Bonnet Group Buy!
I am interested in a carbon fibre bonnet! That's the reason why I did sign in for this forum from the Netherlands.
I have only some questions about this bonnet. Does it have hinges or can they be attached easily? Can I drill holes for the nozzles to clean my front window? What about little stones from the road that splash on the car. My bonnet has some little damage from driving many miles on the highway. Can carbon fibre handle these little stones better and if not, can it be repaired?

Re: Carbon fibre Bonnet Group Buy!
Opaul, DSOP in Germany can source high quality carbon fibre body parts for the Calibra. Think about 1000 euro for a one-off CF bonnet. I'm getting a modified bonnet, wings & rear arches from said source.
But not in CF, in fibreglass

Re: Carbon fibre Bonnet Group Buy!
to be honest I would love a CF bonnet for the Calibra... however at that sort of price I dont think its worth it, its more than I paid for the whole car...

i'm guessing this is who gary is talking about
Thanks Allycally, yes that's who I mean.
Best to telephone as their website doesn't really reflect the products they can supply as they are primarily a race car tuning & service company supporting German VLN, Endurance, Slalom race cars/ teams. For the Calibra they simply phone the guy that makes the panels for their VLN cars. Then it is all down to ones budget whether to go for fibre glass or carbon fibre.
Their in-house-ish Calibra ( owned by one of the mechanics) has fibreglass wings, doors, rear hatch, bonnet, makrolon windows etc and is used a daily drive - it has an almost identical engine setup to mine.
As I previously posted, I was quoted was about 900-1000 euros for a one-off carbon bonnet - I'll be there later this month and as I'm definitely having a new bonnet of sorts I'll ask about a potential group buy on carbon panels.
