Indicator Repeaters
I have a small problem that has somehow got larger. Somebody knocked off my side repeater and broke the connector. I went to Vauxhall and they told me the part is no longer available. I sourced another from eBay that I was quoted as a direct replacement. However. When it was delivered today., the connectors are somewhat different.
How do I access the connectors? And judging from the photos, will these actually fit without modifying the panel?
I also found out that these are not street legal but I can change them for smoked or clear.

Re: Indicator Repeaters
I don't think there are any connectors, you'll need to cut and splice the wiring and add a couple of female spade connectors to plug onto the new fitting
Re: Indicator Repeaters
What about fitting to the body? Do they slot in from behind or from the front?
As for wiring in new connectors, there is not a lot to work with as you can see.

Re: Indicator Repeaters
They should fit from the front only, no rear access is required
Re: Indicator Repeaters
Oh, ok. Thanks. I assume the sticky pad on the actual lens will create the weather seal to stop it rusting.

It wasn't such a hard job after all. And for £3.50 they don't look too bad considering my car has no custom parts and is rather tatty these days.

Looking good!
Re: Indicator Repeaters
That looks good. Well done. Isn't there a connection plug on the inside of the wing to unplug the repeater?

Re: Indicator Repeaters
Nope, that would have been smart design - but seriously, it's wired direct to harness which makes no sense!
Re: Indicator Repeaters
I dug out the gunk from the original unit to give me a few more mm of wiring to work with. Doing this removed the necessity to crimp on some extra cable to make it easier to work with fat fingers.

Re: Indicator Repeaters
The idiot that painted my car decided the best place to snip the indicator wiring was hard up against the inner guard... both sides. I still to this day can't get my head around that.
