Intercooler Spray LED
Intercooler Spray LED
Just finished off installing a water spray which runs off an SPA guage, also wired inline a led which comes on when its firing, I have tapped the negative side into the lighting circuit which was a bad idea, because the light only comes on if you flick on the lights, or flick the lights on and off quickly which must enable the circuit.
My question is there another wire I could tap this side into, the led is mounted in between the headlamp level switch and the headlight switch, obviously i want the led to come in without having to enable the light circuit.
Cheers

Daddycool,
Basically the spa guage sends out a negative trigger when it reaches a certain value, this is plumbed into a relay which then dishes out a 12v feed to the pump when the value has been reached, on the 12v feed to the pump I put a led inline on the resister side, the other side I put to the negative of my boost guage bulb which relies on the light circuit to be on, I need an alternative source to tap this side into so the led is lit regardless of the light circuit been activated / on.
Any thoughts Daddycool ??
Cheers

Sofaman,
I have a 12 volt feed suppling the relay, the relay is activated by a negative trigger which is the spa guage, the 12v coming out of the relay which goes to the pump has a led inline on the resistor side of it, I need to know where to plum the other side of the led into, at the moment its tapped into the light circuit, but wired this way the led will only light when the light circuit is activated.
Cheers

I'm well confused,
I must be reading it wrong, but it sounds like you have an LED with +12 on one side and you're not sure where to wire the other?
Surely the problem cant be that simple, but if it is, take your pick.. its a negative earth "chassis", run a wire from the - led and fix it to anything metal in sight.

Let me get this straight :-
1. you have 12v going to the relay to trigger it?
2. you have 12v going from the relay to power the pump ?
3. between the relay and the pump you have wired in a resistor and LED ?
4. the negative wire off the resistor is wired the light cuircuit ?
5. if the above are correct then the negative wire from the resistor should be goint to earth ??
If so it should look like the pic ?? Very rough due to time
12v = red lines
Neagative = black lines
answers on a post card please or just post back, so we can get it straight and help you mate

That diagram is spot on, at first I wired the negative side of the led straight to earth and it didn't work, unless it was a dodgy connection or duff led, I will try again, thats what orginally threw me, thats why I tapped it into the light circuit which worked.
Cheers lads will let you know what happens.
