Electric Windows

Any electrical issues

Electric Windows

by Jeffers » Sun Apr 10, 2005 10:03 pm

I un-done the passenger window earlier today & when I tried to do it back up it wouldn't go. So I tried the drivers one too and that also was un-responsive. Once I'd stopped, I looked at the switch's and they are un-illuminated (ignition on or off). However, they illuminate & work still when the drivers door is open??!! I've taken the centre console out but to be honest I don't really know what the possibilities of the problem are. Any suggestions?

In short, I can only get them to operate when the drivers door is open.

I am no techy, but would be a good idea to unhook the battery for 15 - 30 mins etc incase the controlling system has gone a little doolally? This might reset it. Otherwise I guess maybe a new unit will be needed.

Disconnected my Battery for 20min & checked all my fuses, still no results.

Could the door pin have anything to do with it?

My switch is the later one, without that additional reset button. The one where you just hold down the actual window switches for a few seconds to set them. Does it matter witch one I get?
