well just got in after spending ages looking for the prob,
ive taken off every wire and checked for splits and made sure theres a good connection on all off them,(what a pain in the a~s the alternator and starter wires are,)
all i can say is i give up,the cali has beeten me,
but i did find a petrol leak just above my exhaust, the pipe has split so sorted that out,

if any1 has any ideas where to look next that would be great,

hey guys, Well after cleaning the ICV the other week, I think the unit may have failed of become unplugged as the revs stay very high and the engine managment light is on all the time, However this seems to have cured the starting problem so im thinking this unit was at fault all along........

Does anyone know if the car should still run without this plugged in ?
Cheers

Just thought iwould join in as i had this problem. then it jusy wouldnt start at all. all i got from a garage when it started again was "tricks of the trade" went to start it today and the starter motor kicks in ticks over but nothing else catches so i look like an idiot sitting there with my starter motor going nuts and nothing else happening. im going crazy and thinking of selling my cali to get rid of the problem.

looked behind mine today and there is 3 wires a red, black & white,is it just a case of cutting the red and adding on a longer piece and putting it strate to the battery or does it have to go through the fuse box?

right guys i think i have found the problem with my car(i dont know if it will solve yours but its worth a try!!),
ive been out on my car all day pulling every bit of interior ond my engine bay apart to solve this, the thing i found is,
my car has been stolen in the past (i think),the wires that go to the ignition have all been cut and taped back up and by looking at the pic i found in the how to do place there not the same as mine, the red and black wire(live) has been cut and its connected to a black wire?(why i dont know),and the black wire is connect to the red and black,to change them properly i need to get some 30amp wire but i did use a bit of thinner wire and changed them over just to see if it made any difference, and it did alot, before when the immoblizer was on and i turned the key it would just click (i think because theres not enough power)but now it turnes over,(is this normal?)
and my dash lights didnt go dim or the enging pause when i started it(that must be good)
ill let u know how i get on tomorrow eve when i get some 30 amp wire,
jay
