Total closure windows......?????

Total closure windows......?????

by jimbohotpants » Tue May 24, 2005 12:17 am

Its like this..... My cally is supposed to have total closure of its windows when the key is turned 45degrees and held there for 2 seconds or so.
This doesn't happen on mine.
I have tried resetting the windows' programming.
The driver's side doesn't have a microswitch. The passenger side does. Neither side will give any closure with this method.
I have tried grounding the Brwon/Black wire in the driver's footwell to the chassis.... no joy.
Can anyone help me? Do I need the driver's microswitch for either side to work? Is there a more serious problem?
Any help would be much appreciated!

When I turn it 45 degrees, the locks lock. I hold it there forever, but no window movement, either on the passenger side or driver's.
I held a connecting wire from the terminal of the Brown/black wire behind the fuse tray in the driver's footwell (which went into what looks like a relay, together with a thicker black wire), to the body of the car for about 20 seconds or so. I tried quite a few times in case I wasn't getting a decent contact, but to no avail!
From what I gather, each window motor has its own timing circuit inside, so if I ground the circuit at any stage (like the microswitch would do), then they should just operate. Am I mistaken? Can someone set me straight please?

You'll be pleased to know that I've sorted the problem now! All it needed was the microswitch! I've rigged it to the alarm now too so the windows go up with remote locking! Luvly jubbly!
Cheers for all the help guys!

It is indeed!! Now I just need to get the sunroof involved! Needs a bit of thought I reckon.
