When i get upto about 60mph the steering is vibrating like mad. i have just picked up the car and it has been stood for a few months, any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix it? its an 8v manual.

Start with the obvious and get the balancing sorted - check the pressures first, and check the bolts are on tight

yeah get your tracking and get wheels balanced! ave you hit any kerbs lately might of caused it! also every car has a shake mines it about 65mph then it goes at 70mph! Also check yr power steering fluid if you have power steering!

Had the same prob with mine a while back,
took the wheel of to have a look and found that the inside edge of the tyre was rippled !!!!
Scared me ****less as it looked like it would blow out or just come off the rim also caused a massive vibe on the steering.
Bloke at the tyre shop reckon that the sidewall had failed and i should contact maker etc but as the tyres were near to getting changed i never bothered.
But worth checking along with tracking etc for peace of mind.
