LEDS in headlight switch

by jeffp » Mon Jul 04, 2005 11:20 pm

Iam in the process of fitting LEDS to my switches etc, so far i have done the heater control, rear de-mister switch, headlight adjuster switch, and both fog light switches,my problem is with the headlight on off switch,i have fitted the LED but it comes on with the ignition is this right ? ,i dont seem to remember it being on before with the normal bulb though of course it could have blown. Also i have looked on the german site and it shows +ive as the left connection and -ve as the right (or centre one if you count the unsoldered one) i tried this and it didnt work so i swapped them over, +ive on the right , -ve on the left.A word of caution to anyone attempting this mod make sure you dont remove the spindle the knob fixes to, as two small bearings and a spring launch themselves across the room, and if you can find them they are an absolute arse to get back in.To avoid this after removing the switch from the car refit the knob before taking the back of the switch.
