led voltage
Just installed a start switch which has a built in blue led, thing is the led is way too bright and it needs the 12v bringing down to about 6v, some electrical shop sold me a resistor to do this, but it has made no diffence at all, what should I be asking for.
Cheers

LET the fun begin.
They gave you the wrong value reistor by the sounds of it.
You need to know the details of the LED, i.e. the current and fowards voltage.
The supply voltage is 12v, so you need the following calculation:
I= Current, V=forward voltage
(12-V) / I = Resistor value
That should make it the correct brightness.
If it was still too bright you can just increase the value of resistor until you get the brightness you want.
