fuel computer info?

by Iva Biggen » Fri Jul 15, 2005 1:07 pm

hey dudes, it's bloody hot!

right, looking to put a fuel computer in my '92 cally (16v 2.0), just a few quickies

1. Do I need to get hold of any extra sensors?
2. Is CALIBRAting it easy?
3. I know i better check under the centre console first to see if i can put the plug in there.
4. is it simply plug and play?

cheers folks,
Matt

as its a 92 better check to see if you have the yellow plug mate take the glove box out and see to the left the main wiring loom wrapped in sponge tape if the yellow plugs there you should be ok you will need to wire the switch tho i can send you a wiring diagram if you need

If u have the wire, u need

Fuel computer + switch
Outside temp sensor (I hear about £15 form VX but don't quote me)
Black trim panel for around the comp

Fitting is , remove clock. connect fuel comp. remove the center console to fit the switch were the coin hloder is (plugs in next to the elec window connectors).Fit temp sensor in the front bumper (right hand side as u look at the car), the should be a connector with a two blue wire (think one of the wires has a white tracer).

Test the computer to see if it reads right (get a long road and reset the avg speed and see if the new speed matches yours). If not you will need it calibrating (do a search on here). He does it for a tenner on standard cars and did mine a treat

If the fuel reading is wrong then u need a 6ohm resistor (post if instruction are needed).

Think thats about it, there is a guide in the guides + articals section on here.

Just hope u have the connect, I had to remove my cd player to find mine

Good luck
