top mounts question?

top mounts question?

lowerd my cally 30mm today wow what a fun job but noticed there seems to be a small gap around the rubber mounts is this normall cause i have lowerd or is it somthing i have done wrong everthing seems tight used all the old nuts just not sure if it were like that before???????

there often is a gap unde the rubber mounts, If you pull the rubber bits off, then put them back on the gap usualy goes, its like the rubber bit isnt on the metal properly

rog its more like there is a big nut which holds the spring in place quite thick then the metal plate with rubber round it which is under the bonnet is sat ontop of that nut and there is a gap do i just need to change the size of the nut i will take a pic and put it on here so you can see what i mean

there is suposed to be a gap , its just that the rubber bit fills the gap, one time i turned the top metal bits the other way up to get rid of it, alot of people seem to have a 1/4" gap there

as you can see from pic3 the nut it is quite big but i just did reversal of when i took it all off and i went by the other side which still had the old standard stuff on and that sat properly carnt understand why theres a gap

might be a silly question but is the nut under the top mount done up as tight as it will go?.

thats the nut i mean(the 1 at the bottom that holds the springs down)
not the nut on the top

yer i had a garage look at it and they said its fine the bloke who owns it is a mate so he aint gonna lie buy the way how did you get on with yours ok? [img]/smile.gif[/img]

i wasnt feeling to good on sunday so didnt get round to beating it again, it will be lowered this weekend prob sunday,my rear shocks are knocking so needs to be done, i keep spraying everything in wd40 so should come off ok this time,

i hope lol

how fars kendal from norwich?, the only thing i need to buy is a big spanner for the top nut,ive only got sockets that big and when i tryed last week i couldnt get that off because the whole lot kept turning,

u can post pics up hear they would be a great help

600 fully comp 3yrs no claims well nearly 4yrs never had a crash well not me driving anyhow
