~lowering issues~

after driving in my sister lowered car, i didnt realise that when you lower it alot, you lose the ride quality. you feel every bump and the suspension feels too hard (it is not adjustable)

i am soon going to get my 18's put on, however putting 18s on raises the car up! i dont want this.

i love the ride quality of the suspension on my car and dont want to alter it too much.

if i just get lowering springs (-35 to -40) and nothing else, will it make the ride quality hard?

although i got a ford, i just want to know in your experience with suspension and lowering springs, because FFOC aint that responsive!

thanks in advance

Lowering springs are normally 'Sport' springs therefore they will almost definitely be firmer.

I prefer firm and sporty to wallowy and on stilts!!!!

If your putting the right tyres on it should not make any difference to the height of the car

Putting 18's on with low profile tyres will make the ride harder too.

thanks for the advice gents, i am really debating what to do when i get my rims.

it deffo does raise the car up, i seen peoples cars on FFOC before and after lowering on 18's.

what is the difference in ride quality between a suspension lowering kit and just the lowering springs and what are the general pros and cons are there about these two?

Guess it's a simple choice....1) Soft and comfy. standard car,
2) firmer ride, corners better, lowering kit only,
3) planted on rails, feel the bumps, low profiles with lowered kit( But looks AWSOME!! )

So it's style over ride quality....or your budget.... Profiles cost more, and don't last as long, you also got camber correction, added pressure on suspension parts..
