remote central locking

i've just fitted a cobra rcl kit and it works but only when one or both doors are open. does anyone know where i'm going wrong?

Did you wire it to the door locking relay?

i've wired it to the brown/black and brown/red wire going to the central locking unit in the o/s kick panel.
