Help with remote start please!

Pretty much got the remote start done, just need a wire that shows 6+ volts when the engine's running but not when the engine is off and the ignition is on. Any ideas would be great, cheers

Hmm.. You could fix it by put a resistor at 12V line (ignition on 15) and contol it via your alternator (by relay)

Maybe 5V line from ECU , but i dont know if its wise to 'disturb' it.. pin 20 on ECU

A simple resistor + relay is more 'faill safe' IMHO

Cheers

In the end sourced a feed from behind the fusebox, no11 (fuel pump). All works great, now I can have some fun confusing passers-by when I start it lol

Can't wait to get an engine start done on mine, for those cold winter mornings set the blowers and heated seats on before you get out of the car at night then after you remote start it, it'll be toasty warm for when you get in

Lol that's what I thought but mine seemed ok. I should say they seem cheaper as they're not insurance approved plus when you think of alarm prices you tend to think of alarm + fitting, not just the alarm. Anyways when it comes to eBay just check the feedback, I got mine off there and I'm reasonably pleased with it.
